Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Banking & Markets and Treasury (“GBM&T”) Compliance Canada Program. The Senior Manager will work closely with Director, Programs, the GBM&T Compliance Canada team and a diverse set of stakeholders to provide ongoing support of the Global Banking and Markets (“GBM”) and Group Treasury (“GT”) Canada Compliance programs in line with Global Compliance’s strategy and initiatives.

Accountabilities

Support the execution of various components of the GBM&T Compliance Canada program, which includes the following:

  • Develop and enhance the monitoring oversight program
  • Develop and maintain Key Performance Indicators and Key Risk Indicators for the monitoring program, including the processes to obtain the required data for such metrics
  • Review, update and develop reporting related to the team’s monitoring activities
  • Develop and maintain internal documents including procedures in support of the GBM&T Compliance Canada Program
  • Manage the GBM and GT Canada monitoring inventories, including coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the inventory is up to date and meets the requirements set by Enterprise Compliance
  • Perform second line reasonability reviews on monitoring activities documented in the inventory and work with stakeholders to have monitoring items updated as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating responses to regulatory requests for information on an as needed basis (backup)
  • Responsible for ensuring that issues identified through the monitoring team’s activities are accurately logged, tracked and followed up on in a timely manner for Compliance and Regulatory reporting purposes
  • Assist with ad hoc requests/provide support as needed in respect of other aspects of the GBM&T Compliance Canada Program, including delivering strategic change initiatives
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Global Compliance, regulators and GBM and GT business leaders to support the achievement of initiative deliverables and overall objectives
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of compliance related industry developments
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Code of Conduct
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment

Education/Experience

  • Post-Secondary education and/or professional designations
  • Institutional, corporate banking, treasury, capital markets, compliance or regulatory experience
  • Experience designing and developing reports using Excel, VBA and Power BI to achieve automation and data visualization (would be an asset)
  • Self-motivated; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams
  • Highly organized and capable of dealing with multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Sound judgment in identifying risks in order to proactively escalate with relevant senior management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
