Contributes to the overall success of the Quality Assurance and Challenge review program deliverables for major milestones related to the Risk Transformation program to ensure deliverables are executed/delivered in compliance with regulatory expectations, internal policies and procedures, and will meet our sustainable target stated goals.

The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance Risk Transformation Program is a key role that ensures all Quality Assurance activities, and the deliverables demonstrate that the major milestones comply with relevant regulatory expectations and internal Bank standards, are aligned with all-bank strategic goals, and the target state for specific initiatives, and ensure sustainability is prioritized.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for assisting with executing and reporting on the Quality Assurance Program for the Risk Transformation program and individual program initiatives. Provides value-added support to our internal stakeholders by providing feedback and recommendations that enhances the global risk management programs and processes.
  • Responsible for efficiently and promptly evaluate and finalize the rating/status of milestone/initiative closure packages, ensuring all related Service Level Agreements are met. Review and validate management actions taken to remediate and close milestones/initiatives, ensuring the sustainability of the programs.
  • Responsible for assisting with managing the internal relationships within Global Risk Management, the First Line Subject Matter Expert; and Compliance and Audit on behalf of the program. This includes overseeing audits, audit issue closures, and ensuring program enhancements comply with internal Bank regulatory management standards.
  • Report the results of quality assurance reviews to the Director. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement, including regular updates on the status of quality assurance review activities and any identified issues or potential risks.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Promote and supports an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have

  • Experience in audit, QAR, methodology, and compliance
  • Accounting designation preferred
  • A good understanding of risk management practices
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel
  • Advanced reporting skills
  • People management experience is an asset
