As part of the Global Finance Strategic alignment with the new all bank strategy, the Senior Manager, Data Acquisition, and Integration is responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of data acquisition, integration, and management to support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) modernization program and enterprise-wide implementation of Anaplan.The Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of Global Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships leveraging broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Strategic Partner

  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive data acquisition and integration strategy aligned to the FP&A modernization program goals.
  • Support the Director in implementing the modernization of planning and forecasting across the Bank.
  • Collaborate with finance and business partners to ensure requirements are addressed to support model design and related processes.
  • Ensure compliance of the modernization program with enterprise data standards and governance.

Data Acquisition and Integration

  • Manage and supervise the collection of financial data from various internal and external sources, ensuring accurate documentation and determination of data requirements.
  • Design and implement protocols for data quality and integrity through rigorous validation, cleansing and enrichment to ensure high-quality data inputs.
  • Work with local data teams to map and stage data for integration into Anaplan.
  • Create and maintain data mapping documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Support the design and management of data integration processes to consolidate data from multiple sources into a unified data warehouse.
  • Manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow.

Financial Analysis & Management

  • Assist in the development and integration of data to support the generation of actionable insights for financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including enabling scenario analysis and financial modeling.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports to enable stakeholders to visualize financial data and trends.

Risk Management:

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management. FP&A experience an asset
  • Highly developed planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships across the Bank and with external vendors.
  • Well developed presentation and written communication skills.
  • Experienced with financial planning and analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
