Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Global Human Resources Technology / Solution Architecture & Engineering in Colombia and Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Perform developments over Java, .Net (backend) and Javascript (Frontend) in terms to support and provide enhancements to current technology stack or in case that we need to make new apps that could be performs in those programming languages.
- All our tech stack is being develop using agile methodology approaches.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application defects with excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time.
- Provide third-level support to business users.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions
The software developer will focus on application development and support in a diverse kind of environments in middle of a cloud transition and app modernization processes that are running as part of our roadmap. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes Technical Lead, Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance engineers. You will be involved in the full development life cycle, from design and development to testing and deployment of various web-based Global HR applications. To be successful in this role, you should have strong programming skills and knowledge of web development frameworks to deliver high quality solutions for our clients.
Education / Experience / Other Information
- Knowledge and experience in object-oriented software design and development.
- Strong experience with Java (8, 11, 17), supporting different frameworks as Springboot, in all develop phases develop and unit testing (Must have).
- Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, including but not limited to C#, Web Services, supporting frameworks, and UI tools (Nice to have).
- Experience with HTML/CSS/javascript(preferred react) and frontend skills (Nice to have).
- Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, database design and development; experience with data migration tools is considered a strong asset.
- Understanding of cloud-hosted environments like Azure or GCP is considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture and relational databases, including database theory, and a strong understanding of business data structures is considered a strong asset.
- B1 level of English
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
