The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks Director - US Credit Risk in Houston TX to exhibit a high degree of industry knowledge and expertise. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing risk analytics tools and financial modelling tools to evaluate and interpret financial metrics, financial projections, and financial market products to monitor the performance of borrowers and to determine likelihood of loan repayment; conducting stress testing analysis to determine when the business can slow down before a financial covenant is breached and a refinancing must take place; implementing loan structures and pricing, including deal structuring, due diligence, documentation and protections required for complex credits; managing risk appetite, lending policies, procedures and practices, including economic and regulatory requirements; monitoring accounting and regulatory environments for the markets in which the Bank's customers operate, including understanding of corporate tax law, accounting and regulatory aspects of regulated industries, and superior working knowledge of banking, commercial and bankruptcy law and related regulations in the United States; consolidating the Bank-wide Industry Analysis and presenting the report for approval to Senior Credit Committee, Risk Policy Committee, and the Risk Committee of the Board.
