Job Purpose:

Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive documentation including detailed test plans, maintenance procedures, test operational work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Identify and communicate hardware and software design deficiencies to customers.
  • Manage project schedules related to test development and software upgrades, coordinating with the customer focus team and customer counterparts.
  • Conduct training for technicians and operators on new production test stations.
  • Support the debug of complex Electronics System Solutions for RF/Digital designs and perform root cause failure analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide support for software installation, configuration, data collection, and modifications.
  • Facilitate product implementation in manufacturing, including detailed facility layout planning for equipment, workstation floor space, and requirements for power and data networks.
  • Identify, champion, and drive test and process improvements to reduce top defects and improve test yields.
  • Interface with new customers, define proposals, and generate quotations to support new business development.
  • Oversee and support New Product Introduction (NPI) pilot runs and supply feedback to customers.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer in a relevant industry such as telecommunications, computer engineering, computer networking, or medical device manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with SMT and PCBA manufacturing processes and the application of electronics industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001).
  • Strong expertise in one or more of the following networking and protocol areas: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM, QoS, L2-L3 protocols, Platform validation, High Availability (HA), and network management.
  • Solid understanding of how to execute test plans to validate product functionality, performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and scripting languages is desirable.
  • Good understanding of the application of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Burn-In Testing to maximize product reliability, minimize warranty costs, and ensure high-performance standards.
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) products and Test Interface Units.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience with the Engineering Change Control process.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience within a Contract Manufacturing environment is desired.

Salary Range(annual): $90,000- $100,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
