JOB TITLE: Vice President of Operations & Plant Manager
DEPARTMENT: Administration
REPORTING TO: SVP, Integrated Manufacturing Solutions, EMEA
DIRECT REPORTS: Yes
OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:
- Responsible for leadership, management and performance of the Fermoy site
- Support operation’s overall business strategy by providing leadership and direction to the operations of the facility; building a strong leadership-oriented workforce
- Ensure the facility provides outstanding products and services to its customers through high quality, competitive costs, and on-time delivery
- Drive the continuous improvement of processes and the implementation of new technologies; developing organizational strength and robustness; and ensuring facility operation in compliance with Company policies and all laws
- Drive the company’s competitive position and financial performance.
- Overall owner for the Profit and Loss of the Site
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the local team to develop an operations strategy. This multi-year strategy should embrace the concepts, principles, and philosophies of Lean Manufacturing.
- Develop a high performance, leadership-oriented team.
- Provide a high level of leadership and management sufficient to motivate, develop, and guide the organization to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Direct operations to ensure compliance with prescribed quality, cost, delivery, and other performance standards. Obtain planned results.
- Position a competitive manufacturing environment to attract customers and drive financial performance.
- Maximize profitability and Return on Invested Capital (ROIC) for the company
- Deliver Best in class Manufacturing solutions
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and effective customer relations.
- Foster an operations environment that provides a safe and environmentally responsible facility.
- Select, train, develop, and motivate employees to maximize individual potential, achieve operational effectiveness, and ensure ongoing organizational capability.
- Maintain plant property and equipment in good condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and to ensure effective and economical operation
- Quality: Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.

- Revenue, Gross Profit, Gross Margin, Inventory Turns, Scrap, ROIC
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL:
- Business or Engineering Degree
- Minimum of 10 years progressive senior management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent presentation and influence skills
- Ability to build effective partnerships with internal and external suppliers and partners
- Strong ability to plan at both strategic and operational levels
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing philosophies, operations, processes, and related technologies
- Demonstrated competence in lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement systems (e.g., Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing)
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, tools, and procedures and customer standards/requirements. Ideally including ISO-9001, ISO-13485 and ISO-14001 Standards related customer quality standards and requirements.
- Excellent understanding and the ability to manage capital and expense budgets.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and lead teams to solve complex problems.
- Personal computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications.
