Cost Accountant

Job Purpose:
Our Cost Accountants prepare journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts, collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed. This position will also prepare financial statements and variance reports as requested. This position will maintain one or a combination of cost accounting systems.

Nature of Work & Responsibilities

• Performing various types of financial and cost analysis (variance, account, etc)
• Preparing system generated and ad hoc reports
• Assisting with month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Ensuring adherence to company accounting policies and SOX 404
• Performing additional projects as needed

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 0-2 years of Accounting experience
• Computer skills to include Excel, Monarch, Microsoft Word, e-mail and accounting software packages
• Prior experience with Oracle would be highly desirable
• Proficient on 10 key
• Experience and/or knowledge of SOX 404 requirements is preferred
