RF TECHNICIAN

Shift: 4A (Monday-Thursday)

JOB PURPOSE

Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment. Develops methods, processes, procedures and equipment that will improve the failure analysis process and/or reduce failures. May assist Test Engineering to design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.

NATURE OF WORK:

Must work with manufacturing and engineering involved in assembly and test, as well as performing debug and rework on satellite communication systems.

Must have a working knowledge of a variety of test equipment. i.e., signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and other RF equipment..

Must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics, follow electrical and mechanical assembly drawings to diagnose and analyze complex RF circuitry..

Must be able to work closely with engineers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associates degree in related field

Minimum 2 years experience

Backgrounds in RF communications with an emphasis on satellite communications.
