Title: Plant Manager

Job Purpose:

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing Sanmina's high technology printed circuit board facility located in Manchester, NH. This facility supports mission critical products in the defense, aerospace, communications and medical market segments. This role has full P&L responsibility for the facility leading a team of approximately 160 employees including the manufacturing, engineering, quality, purchasing, production control and maintenance organizations.

This position will play a key role in achieving broad based business goals including revenue and profitability growth, customer satisfaction and technology development all built on foundations of world class quality and execution

The successful candidate will be a leader who can communicate with and motivate a talented team that he or she will continue to build and develop.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Selects, develops and leads a team to meet targeted growth plans, financial objectives and customer commitments.
  • Works with staff to build organizational resiliency at each level in the business.
  • Leads team in setting and establishing daily performance management and in developing plans to meet and exceed yield, throughput, cost and revenue targets.
  • Demonstrates operational acumen and discipline by delivering consistent weekly results at or above target and instills team accountability.
  • Actively analyzes costs, yields, operational activity and forecast data to determine facility progress toward committed goals and where adjustments need to be made to ensure financial, customer and operational metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Proactively plans resource requirements to support customer needs and business growth targets. Builds in inherent operational flexibility to seize market opportunities through forward looking capital investment and labor plans.
  • Senior leader with the ability to drive a continuous improvement culture through the organization.
  • Drives process discipline, improvement and development through utilization of statistical tools and formal methodology (DMAIC).
  • Assesses new material and equipment technologies enabling improved efficiencies and capability.
  • Partners with key customers on technology development and technical roadmap alignment. Utilizes and directs the appropriate plant and corporate engineering/design resources to drive proactive short and long term technology solutions for customers.
  • Establishes and maintains strong customer relationships primarily through performance, with the ability to deal directly with customers at functional staff to executive levels to build relationships, field questions, address complex requirements, openly resolve issues and assist to close business opportunities as required.
  • Through internal communication and coordination between multiple functional groups internally, and PCB division management, ensure major customer proposals are prepared accurately and completely considering design technology, customer demand, costs, factory capacity, mix and optimal load.
  • Participates in formulating and administering facility policies and developing short and long range goals and objectives.
  • Implements strategies and plans with clear alignment to divisional strategy and direction.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline preferred, Masters in Engineering or Business a plus.
  • 15+ years demonstrated success in similarly sized or larger manufacturing facilities in a combination of relevant operations or technical roles leading teams, preferably in a technology oriented business such as semiconductor, printed circuit board, substrate fabrication or materials processing. Printed circuit board knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Track record of leading meaningful and profitable growth
  • “Hands-on” type manager able to delegate effectively but also lead by example.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Able to clearly communicate, build confidence and influence across the organization from operators to CEO level with success building customer relationships leading to business growth.
  • Strong presence and charisma.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing skills in team members to create a high-performance group. Sets, drives and meets aggressive goals for herself/himself and those around her/him.
  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term objectives.
