Our products are used by a who's who of the global entertainment industry, including top broadcast networks like NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox in the USA; Rogers, CTV and the CBC in Canada and others around the world from Fiji to Finland and everywhere in between. We are # 1 in providing behind the scenes HD production gear used in Sports Stadiums including places where the Atlanta Falcons, NY Mets, LA Lakers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Bills play. Our equipment was used extensively at the Vancouver 2010 and other Olympic games. Our systems are used by top acts including Springsteen, Blink 182, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Police to name a few. Top webcasters like Revision 3 and MLB.com use Ross. Our equipment is even used on the International Space Station. Join Ross and you will have a chance to work on advanced technology used in a wide variety of very cool ways by our clients.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Reporting to the Technical Director of Ross Research Labs, the successful candidate will use their curiosity, ingenuity and problem-solving skills to investigate and assess novel technologies to help Ross Video determine their suitability for in-product use. For the Fall 2026 term, the main focus will be on artificial intelligence (AI).
Ross Research Labs’ mission is to quickly assess new technologies and solutions before they are incorporated into any of our products. Its objective is to learn things rather than make them. As such it’s often the point of first contact for novel software, hardware and systems technology with Ross Video. A typical co-op project would be to build a Proof of Concept demo that incorporates one or more of these novelties.
This position will be based at our Ottawa Campus on Auriga Drive however it can be done primarily from home (remotely). Our pay rates range from $24 - $35 per hour, based on experience.
WHAT YOU KNOW
If this sounds like you - or who you want to be - then include a few words with your application about who you are and what you want out of this position at Ross Video. Many of our current team members started their career as a co-op at Ross. What are you waiting for? We want to hear from you.
U.S. EXPORT ADMINSTRATION REGULATIONS
Ross Video complies with the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, which place limits on sharing certain technologies and source code with individuals from countries under U.S. embargo.
How This Impacts Our Hiring…
As part of this compliance, we must consider a candidate’s citizenship and permanent residency when evaluating eligibility for roles that involve access to specific technologies. Due to these legal restrictions, we’re unfortunately unable to proceed with candidates whose current citizenship or permanent residency is in a country under U.S. embargo (currently Cuba, Iran, Syria, or North Korea).
We appreciate your understanding as we meet these important legal requirements.
EQUITY, DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
At Ross, we embrace diversity, and we want you to bring your authentic self to work. We are committed to building a team that includes a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. Inclusivity drives innovation and creativity, and that’s something we’re passionate about at Ross! We believe everyone should be able to enjoy a rewarding career at Ross, regardless of race, colour, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, marital status, age, veteran status, physical or mental disability. If a disability means that you need any additional support during the recruitment process, please contact Talent Acquisition and we will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate your request
