What The Job Is All About:

  • Maintain and continuously improve Hyperconverged Systems Development Lab environments.
  • Own the end-to-end test automation strategy, including design, implementation, execution, CI/CD integration, and reporting.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python.
  • Create and maintain automated test plans, test cases, and scripts aligned with product requirements and release objectives.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) to support continuous delivery.
  • Execute test cycles, analyze results, and provide clear reporting on product quality, risks, and progress.
  • Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations in collaboration with development teams.
  • Investigate and reproduce product defects, including customer-reported issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Product Managers, and developers to ensure testability and overall product quality.
  • Participate in design and review processes to improve system reliability and test coverage.
  • Manage and expand lab infrastructure, including integration of third-party systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PV processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership in automation strategy and mentor team members.
  • Drive quality initiatives across projects and influence engineering best practices.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software test automation.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Robot Framework).
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience testing distributed systems or hardware/software integrated environments.
  • Familiarity with broadcast or network-based systems.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience leading automation initiatives or mentoring engineers.
  • Experience with performance, scalability, or reliability testing is considered an asset.
  • Based in Ottawa, Canada, with regular in-lab presence required.

Salary Information:

The pay range for this role in Canada is: 93,000 - 120,000 CAD

Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, knowledge, and role-specific qualifications, and may be adjusted to recognize candidates accordingly.
