The Solutions Architect – Demonstration & Tradeshows plays a critical role in the Ross Video Sales Organization. As a key technical resource, this role demonstrates an advanced level of understanding of Ross’ products and solutions and is responsible for scoping and designing complex technical solutions to address requirements for use in Ross’ tradeshows and other customer events.

The Solutions Architect’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the technical design and execution of all demonstration and tradeshow systems, supporting major shows like NAB and IBC, as well as regional tradeshows, remote demo facilities, and onsite regional Customer Experience Centers. The Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with Ross Video's Sales and Product Management teams to offer an exceptional customer demonstration experience. This role requires a high level of integrity, determination, and enthusiasm, while also showcasing strong technical skills, time management, and organizational capabilities.

What the job is all about:

  • Review and design solutions based on technical specifications of each demo, event and tradeshow.
  • Develop and sustain single-line functional, workflow, elevation, and conceptual drawings of technical project plans.
  • Define and understand end user needs, and plan remote and on-site projects to effectively showcase Ross' diverse range of products.
  • Conduct project management responsibilities, including:
  • Project specific budget tracking and building schedules
  • Compiling complete Bill of Materials & supply lists
  • Perform technical commissioning of Ross and third-party broadcast and network equipment during project implementation
  • Working with the Manager, Technical Solutions and the rest of the DTE team to coordinate schedules and ensure project completion.
  • Oversee technical installation in both shop pre-production and on-site for demo and tradeshow equipment.
  • Collaborate with Ross Product Managers and Product Specialists to create efficient demo systems for global tradeshows and Customer Experience Centers.
  • Offer technical guidance and training for other DTE team members as new technology is introduced.
  • Develop workflows for automating routine tasks such as system maintenance and testing.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Who you are:

  • Designing broadcast systems, whether linear (SDI, 2110, NDI) or non-linear (file-based workflows)
  • Network configuration and problem-solving (routers, switches, VPN, firewalls, SSH).
  • Expertise in best practices for installation, including wiring, rack setup, electrical work, fly pack/flight case design, and wiring pinouts.
  • Proficiency in tradeshow and event-related technology (temporary event electrical setups, sound reinforcement, automated lighting, LED video walls, rigging, etc.).
  • Familiarity with applicable broadcast system signal specifications.
  • Familiarity with broadcast control systems and widely used protocols such as OGP, MOS, CII, VDCP, VISCA, and others.
  • Utilize standard testing tools like Phabrix, Wireshark, and Prism.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Vectorworks ConnectCad would be considered an asset.
  • Proven track record in achieving results and delivering technical solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all company departments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and quickly resolving issues.
  • Able to visualize entire processes and identify potential problems.
  • Balances long-term and short-term objectives.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Able to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent, above average Troubleshooting skills
  • Able to handle time sensitive and / or stressful situations.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Passport, with a willingness to travel up to 20% of the time (Major Tradeshows and visits to regional Customer Experience Centres is required).
