Your tasks
- Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager:
- Work with the Project Mechanical Design Team Lead to design and develop mechanical solutions
- Maintain and update all technical information to ensure that design documents are kept up to date
- Produce innovative and cost effective mechanical designs
- Manage and execute engineering change requests (ECRs) and implement improvements based on operational feedback.
- Review BOMs for accuracy and cost-effectiveness and updating when required.

Your qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in mechanical, mechatronic or similar engineering (mandatory).
- 3-5 years demonstratable mechanical design experience preferably in a defence environment
- Eligible for RPEQ or NER registration
- Australian citizen
- Eligible for a Baseline Security Clearance
- Experience working in a defence project environment preferred
- Experience in mechanical design for electronic systems in a maritime environment preferred.
- Strong skills in 3D AutoCAD Inventor modelling, FEA, and drafting techniques, with familiarity with AS1100 standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience designing sheet metal enclosures and working with rack enclosures.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, basic electrical/electronic systems, and relevant Australian Standards.
- Ability to manage shifting project demands in a dynamic work environment with excellent time management.
