Your tasks

  • Define and manage the entire systems integration of the communications project, including detailed design, set to work, integration testing, and deployment.
  • Develop the project specific detailed design and integration processes aligning them to the Engineering Management System
  • Plan and execute the detailed design and integration activities, including resource allocation, task management and problem solving.
  • Identify potential issues, manage risk, and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful integration.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, issues, and risks.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering team members.
  • Be accountable for ensuring that required engineering products and activities are produced:
  • In accordance with the approved procedures,
  • To required specifications and quality standards,
  • To schedule,
  • To meet or exceed customer needs and expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, product management, supply chain, manufacturing, assembly, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of the communication systems.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement within the Detailed Design and Integration team. Additional Duties:
  • Manage integration and deployment activities at customer facilities.
  • Contribute to contract change proposals.
  • Where applicable, supporting the Functional Team Leader with the identification of training and development needs for the assigned team and supporting or conducting functional performance and development reviews.

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferably in Electrical/Electronics/Communications/Mechatronics
  • 10 years or more experience in Electronic Systems Integration, Communications Systems Engineering or similar role.
  • 5 years or more experience in a team management role, preferably in a defence communications project.
  • Australian Citizen.
  • Eligible to obtain an Australian Security Clearance
  • Eligible to access/handle export-controlled technology, data, and information.
  • Eligible to apply and obtain registration with the National Engineering Register (NER).
  • Eligible to apply and obtain registration with the relevant state engineering authority.
