Hockey Central Associate Producer / Font Coordinator
A Hockey Central Associate Producer / Font Coordinator is a fundamental part of the Sportsnet Hockey Production team. Our Font Coordinators define the informational vision, set accuracy expectations and deliver compelling and entertaining hockey information by supporting commentator analysis through statistics and analytics. Font Coordinators are responsible for accessing in timely manner statistical information to track and build compelling Production content.
What you'll do:
- Attend and contribute to regular editorial meetings when applicable.
- Research and source statistical information in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the Producers, Commentators and other Associate Producers to get a solid understanding of what the stories are and how we are telling them in our shows.
- Exhibit ownership of content in shows
- Exemplary attention to detail
- Sound communication skills
- Initiative to pitch statistic and content ideas to Producers to give important depth to show storylines
- Responsible for all graphics for our Hockey Central Studio Productions
- Provide guidance to Operators on how the information should appear on-air
- Recognize trends in a live game & communicate those to the Producer
- Spell and fact check graphics
- Job requires individuals to work from our NHL Production Control Rooms
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
- On occasion, this position might also fulfill some regular Associate Producer shifts when required.
What you bring:
- 3-5 years of Broadcast experience
- Must have experience in a newsroom Production environment and/or with live sports Productions
- Detail and accuracy oriented with excellent knowledge of hockey statistics and analytics
- Comfortable in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Must be able to work various shifts (including weekends and evenings)
- Exemplary hockey knowledge
- Strong knowledge of technical equipment used in production
