Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Head of Talent Acquisition to lead our hiring efforts in Japan, with a strong emphasis on university relations and early-career talent. This role will be instrumental in building long-term partnerships with academic institutions, designing and executing innovative campus recruitment programs, and ensuring the company attracts top-tier early-career and experienced talent across all functions.

Talent Acquisition Leadership:

• Develop and lead the end-to-end recruitment strategy for Japan, aligned with business goals and workforce planning.
• Oversee a team of recruiters and coordinators to ensure an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring practices and outreach.

University Relations & Early Careers Strategy:

• Build and strengthen relationships with key universities, technical institutes, and student organizations in Japan.
• Design and execute campus recruitment programs including internship programs, graduate hiring, job fairs, and branding events.
• Partner with academic stakeholders to identify emerging talent pipelines and academic collaborations.
• Act as the brand ambassador for the company on campus, driving employer brand awareness through events, sponsorships, and social media engagement.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate closely with business leaders, HRBPs, and global TA partners to understand hiring needs and talent forecasts.
• Provide consultative guidance to hiring managers on talent strategies, market insights, and best practices.

Process & Technology:

• Implement and optimize recruitment tools, ATS systems, and data reporting to improve hiring efficiency and analytics.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws and global hiring standards.
• Track KPIs and provide regular reporting on hiring progress, time-to-fill, campus engagement, and pipeline development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience designing and executing successful university and early-career talent programs in Japan.
• Deep understanding of the Japanese education system and campus recruitment landscape.
• Fluent in Japanese and business-level English (written and verbal).
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity
