About the role
This is a fast paced and dynamic role to manage/implement assigned projects/activities with an increased level of technical complexity and exposure to technical as well as business partners. In this role the ability of being a strong leader and to develop others is pivotal, as well as an excellent technical knowledge.
Your responsibilities
•Deliver assigned complex projects and activities independently for the introduction of new development projects and enhancement of existing products in line with the defined Category Strategy including communication with key stakeholders
•With the R&D Manager, generate the technical content of Project Development Briefs and ensure that all R&D sections are complete and consistent
•Accountable for liaison with appropriate technical development, business and supply chain personnel to ensure completion of all activities to plan & successful handover to Supply and launch to the market for the assigned projects
•Responsible for ensuring that all development activities on assigned projects conforms to legislative, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements, including the adoption and tracking of laboratory best practices
•Deep understanding of consumer needs and insights, underpinning product development and delivery, resulting in exciting and relevant new ideas and opportunities
•Good understanding of product strategy and product cost structure
•Lead a team and coach direct reports in their role
The experience we're looking for
•A demonstrated sound understanding of the FMCG market, consumers & competition
•Ability to turn functioning prototypes into finished products/systems/methods
•Strong project management skills that can be applied in a complex technology delivery environment a proven track record of results
•Technical expertise and curiosity with the ability to develop business relevant technologies potentially involving R&D matrix resources and other categories, ability to become the Reckitt ‘expert’ in product implementation and launch areas as needed
•Experience of working with and application of understanding of factories and/ or external 3rd parties (e.g. suppliers) requirements
•Experience/expertise in technology development and desire to execute the same to a finished product as needed
•Experience in leading a team
