About the role
As a member of a dynamic Insights & Analytics Function the Category & Medical Insights Analyst will help create value for Mead Johnson Nutrition by enabling data-driven decision making for strategic and operational planning. The Category & Medical Insights Analyst will assist in identifying growth opportunities, tracking key performance indicators, and generating actionable insights that influence strategic decisions across our Infant Formula and Child Nutrition businesses. The role will also assist in reporting and analyzing Healthcare Professional data (ProVoice) and support in conducting Healthcare Professional tracking research.
Your responsibilities
Reporting to the Category & Medical Insights & Analytics Manager, you will be responsible for weekly and monthly management of sales data (POS, Nielsen 3 channel), ensuring data accuracy and completeness, and you will investigate and resolve data issues. You will look to provide holistic market views, synthesizing data from various sources to provide overall market views. You will be responsible for the production and maintenance of performance reports, varying from weekly to monthly trending. In addition, you will assist in the production of the monthly business performance scorecards, tracking performance of KPIs relative to targets. You will work with channels to help interpret the basis of the performance and help identify action plans. You will support the Category & Medical Insights & Analytics Manager in ad hoc sales and medical analyses to help drive strategic decisions for the business. You will play a critical role to support the Category & Medical Insights & Analytics Manager in generating key insights such as pricing elasticity and medical sales force effectiveness pertaining to doctor recommendation.
You continually search for improvements in measurement techniques with a goal to be agile. You leverage new technologies and platforms to ensure best practice for democratization of data and data visualization.
The experience we're looking for
- The successful candidate will hold a university degree or equivalent (social sciences, math, computer sciences or business).
- Solid grasp on Nielsen Market Track, IQVIA, IRI, Vendor Central, RetailLink, Precima and ProVoice data
- Demonstrated capability with Microsoft Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools
- Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, Data Bricks and a data lake environment is an asset.
- Strong analytical, storytelling, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate/communicate analytics recommendations to both technical and nontechnical team members. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously demonstrating strong prioritization skills, balancing uncertainties and trade-offs to achieve desired business results. Attention to detail with emphasis on both speed and accuracy.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and independent judgement with the desire to understand the basis and drivers of consumer behaviour.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and encourage use of new information and insights.
- Builds a collaborative, positive cross functional team environment and strong working relationships with senior management, marketing, healthcare and retail sales teams, finance and outside agencies.
- Good understanding of the CPG industry an asset.
