About the role
The purpose of this role is to generate Long-Term plans in terms of manufacturing footprint for Finished Goods across product categories and sites. This role is a key interface between Category Supply, Manufacturing Sites & Network Development.
The successful candidate will create & analyze RCCP’s, helping to better understand bottlenecks in long-term capacity for each site based on projected volumes, generating the strategy required for supply to resolve existing and future supply constraints with clear and accurate data to support decisions. This role is a critical link between stakeholders such as Category Supply, Category Marketing, Finance, Supply Manufacturing Sites and Supply Leadership. The Category Planner acts as the lead interface between Category and Manufacturing teams to project any capacity related supply challenges over a 3-5 years horizon, with quarterly & annual planning views.
The Category Planning ensures that all risks over this horizon are visible, and that adequate mitigation options are fed into the decision making process during Supply Plan. The Category Planner works closely with the Network Development team to generate scenarios & provide visibility for multiple options & scenarios to be aligned with the appropriate Supply Leadership Team for final decision and action plan.
Your responsibilities
• The Category Planner is accountable for creating & validating a robust 5 year view of demand, market trends & category growth, overlaying incremental innovation, in partnership with Category Marketing & Finance teams.
• The Category Planner is accountable for reviewing & verifying long term plans for sites in their category scope, validating vs commercial building blocks.
• The Category Planner is accountable for analysing & validating assumed capacity from sites through assessing the quality of inputs (demonstrated OEE, factory & maintenance calendars etc).
• This role is the point of contact to communicate & escalate projected long term constraints.
• This role will facilitate visibility of capacity and / or supply risk, escalating long-term supply challenges to relevant stakeholders and leading relevant teams to collaborate in providing solutions.
• The Category Planner is accountable for implementing & tracking category allocations where needed.
• The Category Planner is accountable for leading reporting & analysis related to portfolio complexity management with category supply team.
• The successful candidate will review & validate all recommendations on CAPEX investments with planning, supply services and manufacturing leadership.
• The Category Planner is accountable for ensuring that the long-term supply plan effectively meets supply services volume requirements and is set up to provide excellent customer service.
• The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring strong collaboration and good communication with key stakeholders to coordinate relevant information flow, enabling them to build applicable scenarios with credible inputs.
• The Category Planner will manage & analysing large amount of data provided by many stakeholders.
• The Category Planner will participate in modelling strategy sessions with senior category leaders
• The Category Planner will be accountable for project prioritization, communication, stakeholder management & value tracking.
The experience we're looking for
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and challenges.
• Experience in category supply management and / or demand / supply planning.
• Ability to analyse long-range forecasts and make strategic decisions.
• Knowledge of supply chain dynamics and best practices.
• Proficiency in handling and analysing large, complex data sets.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to derive actionable insights from data.
• Experience in factory operations and / or planning is advantageous
