​Research & Development​

R&D Operations Hygiene is the R&D function responsible for global product innovation
implementation, product adaptation and product innovation for local Hygiene brands. Teams work
closely with R&D Innovation groups as well as regional and global functions on projects delivering
growth of the business, protecting existing business against revenue loss, through improving product
profitability, integrating formula and packaging development. The teams are associated with regional
Supply and Commercial organisations and are based across five regions around the globe. This role is
for South Asia region & is based out of Gurugram in India.
The role of Sr. Associate is to lead the provision of ongoing R&D support to a defined RB portfolio of
products. You will be responsible for project management, technical support and laboratory work, to
ensure the implementation of specific Hygiene projects in South Asia. In this role, you will collaborate
with R&D Product Development teams, other R&D Operations teams, Regulatory, Marketing and
Production groups to deliver “best in market” consumer solutions.

About the role

 Work on Hygiene projects across South Asia and lead the implementation of projects with local
markets. You will ensure the successful development & launch or roll outs of products, including
formulation development, performance/claims & stability tests, scale up, specification setting
and copy clearances, technical document preparation, products benchmarking, Demo creation as
reason to believe in closed collaboration with key stakeholders including R&D Product
Development, Regulatory, Legal, Marketing, Supply and Quality.
 Support Supply for manufacturing, procurement or packaging projects, to implement effective
technical solutions and solving issues in manufacturing process including low carbon, safety &
sustainability objectives/compliance.
 Support factories in South Asia for new raw material and supplier qualification-
 Qualify alternative raw materials or suppliers in support of procurement, under guidance and
with approval of the relevant R&D Development Group.
 Work with Supply Process Engineering to solve production issues.

Your responsibilities

Support R&D Product Development Groups-
 Support other R&D operations and R&D Product Development teams by providing a clear
definition of products, marketing claims, and raw material requirements from the
regional/local perspective and by providing technical input and support in the preparation
of the claim support data.
 Can be delegated by R&D Development Groups work on formula adaptations for local
needs.
 Drive regional or local implementation of global product initiatives.
 Provide clear definition of regional/local product, claims, raw material requirements.
 You will report to the relevant R&D Operations Manager – South Asia based at same
location and depending on experience, you may have one or more direct reports, with
responsibility for ensuring their development.
 Managing senior stakeholders and communicating with impact.
 Technical problem solving and troubleshooting when required ensuring issues are
addressed without delay to projects.
 Enforce quality mindset by ‘Right first time’ practice

The experience we're looking for

Graduate/Post- graduate level (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology/Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or
other relevant science)
 Proven track record of successful delivery of technical projects in a FMCG company.
 Strong formulation expertise and understanding of raw material chemical interactions.
 Experience and understanding of methodologies used to support product and new claims
development.
