What is the opportunity?

Cards & Loyalty’s Everyday Rewards team is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Management. This role will be responsible for leading the development and evolution of the Everyday Value strategy and for working across the team to ensure a cohesive vision and narrative across Product, Partnerships, Enablement & Revenue. As part of this, the Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Management will provide critical support across the Everyday Rewards team for ongoing business management, will act as a representative in key Avion Rewards or RBC forums and working groups, and will be responsible for leading annual strategy and planning efforts on behalf of the team. This individual will also be responsible for identifying, exploring and assessing new opportunities within the Everyday Rewards portfolio, and for providing leadership for new and emerging business priorities, including new partnership acquisition opportunities.

What will you do?

  • Lead development of Cards & Loyalty’s Everyday Rewards Strategy and connected strategies (e.g. Product, Partnerships, etc.), acting as a SME across the business to ensure this strategy is reflected in broader Avion Rewards, Cards & Loyalty and RBC objectives.

  • Manage initiatives end-to-end, including project leadership, stakeholder management, financial & competitive analysis and recommendation generation.

  • Oversee regular business management activities (e.g. facilitate workshops, lead offsites, etc.) and support annual finance, strategy and planning cycles.

  • Lead the identification, exploration and assessment of new opportunities (product, partner & revenue) and business models, working with cross-functional partners and externally as appropriate.

  • Provide support across Everyday Rewards for essential risk management responsibilities, such as product risk and project risk assessments and ongoing oversight and reporting responsibilities.

  • Contribute to the strategic vision for Merchant Solutions, and support the development of Avion’s Merchant Solutions 5-Year Strategy and product roadmap, with a particular focus on the exploration of new and emerging opportunities (i.e. constellation product)

  • Work with the Merchant Solutions Product, Enablement and Pricing & Revenue teams, as well as with partners from across Avion, to establish strategies that align to our business objectives and key results

  • Prepare and deliver regular business and performance management reporting on behalf of the Merchant Solutions team, and support annual finance, strategy and planning cycles across Avion and PB&CB

  • Provide support across Merchant Solutions for essential risk management responsibilities, such as product risk and project risk assessments and ongoing oversight and reporting responsibilities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Strategic business sense with planning and implementation capabilities

  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions

  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding and responding)

  • Proven time and self-management skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), and strong analytical and consultative skills

  • Strong stakeholder, partnership or relationship management experience (with either internal and/or external partners)

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of banking and/or loyalty industries, and prior strategy or product management experience considered an asset.

  • Experience supporting go-to-market strategies and/or complex product/project launches, such as new products, enhancements or strategic initiatives
