What is the opportunity?

As the Senior Manager, Private Banking Technology, you will design, develop, implement, support, maintenance and testing of applications and projects for all of Wealth Management (“WM”) Asia business platforms. The mandate also includes non-development Business Project Responsibilities such as: rollout of systems, end user training, co-ordination with other functions.

What will you do?

• Implement systems in accordance to standards, guidelines and best practices for the development and deployment of solutions.
• Participates and contributes in the definition of overall systems architecture to support the business objectives and to ensure that there is a consistent use of technology and architecture.
• Thinks creatively about opportunities to align RBC offerings with future client needs.
• Responsible for the technology development for the Business ensuring the best possible return on investment for the client.
• Review vendor deliverables to ensure that they meet the functional and technical requirements set out by the technology team, and also comply with the technology standards.
• Responsible for configuration management and user training.
• Works with Head of Application Development, Architecture and various Business partners to ensure that the business systems being developed contribute to the strategic direction of the business stakeholders; enhances and supports the business processes, and adds value to the requesting functional Units in achieving their goals.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• The role would typically require 10+ years of experience in Avaloq development, project and people management.
• Experience working with remote teams in global banks, and able to handle complex matrix structure.
• Experience with the varying businesses throughout WM Asia and their associated mix of technology platforms.
• Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with knowledge of international business units, regulations, pressures, requirements.
• Experienced with methodologies for development, testing /QA, business analysis, SDLC.
• Excellent relationship-building, teamwork and collaborative skills.
• Knowledge and interaction of the wider-RBFG business units and IT Groups.
• International exposure and sensitivity to various cultures.
• Strong people communication skills, working as part of a single team across multiple time zone and jurisdictions.

Nice-to-have

• Java and .Net development skills
• Unix scripting
