What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Trade Documents & Documentary Collections this position is responsible to manage the day to day operation of the Documentary Collections team. This team is located in a high profile, high risk and critically time sensitive transaction environment, supporting a global client base which includes Retail and Commercial Banking and Capital Markets. The incumbent will lead a team of employees who are responsible for end to end processing of Documentary Collections. Additionally, the incumbent is accountable for operationalizing client care strategies, maximizing transaction processing efficiency/effectiveness, problem resolution and the integration/implementation of new initiatives and activities relating to the Documentary Collections team; including the introduction of automation through various tools such as RPA
What will you do?
- Overall responsibility for client satisfaction relative to the handling of Documentary Collections
- Responsible to meet monthly Key Performance Indicators and to participate in PTO Quality Initiatives.
- Responsible for effective relationship management of all partners, including, but not limited to BBE, P&CB, Capital Markets, IT, and Products/Sales Management teams
- Is primary contact and referral for service partners in all businesses throughout RBC for processes relating to the Documentary Collections team
- Responsible to optimize the Centre’s operational efficiency with a mindset of continuous improvement inclusive of capacity/costing management; support the introduction of RPA initiatives to their relative products, mitigating the risk associated to the dozens of manual process work flows
- Identify synergies with other teams in the P&TO and EOP to enable both adequate coverage for peak periods/staff shortages; while supporting the continued building of a flexible and agile work force
- Ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviours that contribute to RBC goals.
- Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance.
- Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process, and keeping them focused on business priorities
- Responsible to identify and/or resolve high risk / high impact situations while ensuring quality business decisions are made on behalf of RBC and our valued clients/stakeholders for a ‘’win/win” outcome.
- Responsible for adherence to Business Plan (NIE/FTE)
- Build and support governance processes and responsible to manage/mitigate operational risk relative to Trade Processing including AML, ICR, RCSA, IAS and BCP/DRP.
- Fully conversant in Business Continuity Planning in concert with BCM Business Resumption facilitators
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 5+ years of Trade Service experience.
- 2+ years of People Leadership experience
- Performance driven individual who focuses on ongoing coaching/training
- Strong organizational, problem solving & decision-making skills.
