Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Manager, Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Performance Management, is the Finance Lead responsible for the analysis and reporting of FTE for RBC’s Personal Banking and Commercial Banking segments. The Manager is also responsible for enhancing cost transparency and developing modelling that provides insight and actionable information to senior management for effectively controlling cost growth. Furthermore, the role is a lead in Platform Performance Management on matters relating to investment spend in Personal Banking and validation of associated benefits, while also assuming ownership and stewardship of critical Platform Governance responsibilities.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Oversee the Personal Banking and Commercial Banking segments’ FTE reporting, completing analysis and written commentary explaining variances for reporting periods, driving deeper insights and oversight.
  • Enhancing cost transparency and developing modelling that provides insight and actionable information to management for effectively controlling cost growth.
  • Coordinating with business and functional partners on initiative tracking, acting as the centre of expertise on matters relating to investment spend, and validation of associated benefits.
  • Serve as the End-User Developed Applications (EUDAs) champion for the Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Performance Management team, ensuring alignment with the Enterprise policy.
  • Participate in the completion of deliverables for Investor Relations and External Reporting on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide insights and transparency for centralized expenses such as the deposits insurance premium, and fraud losses.
  • Continuously improve processes, find opportunities to standardize, automate and free-up capacity for value-add analysis and insights.
  • Lead or participate in ad-hoc projects and information requests as required.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Finance
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and building relationships at various organization levels
  • Self-motivated – ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams
  • Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical mindset
  • Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple data sources, and translating data/analysis into key messages and insights
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint

Nice to Have

  • CPA or similar financial designation
  • Knowledge of EPM and RBC Finance tools & processes
