What is the opportunity?
As a key member of RBC Royal Trust’s (RT) Trust Investments Group, you will be responsible for assisting Trust Investment Managers (TIM) across Canada in providing portfolio maintenance and administration for trust, power of attorney/mandate, estate and partnership accounts. The Associate TIM will also support the team with oversight and risk monitoring, and will have growing exposure to portfolio management areas such as drafting Investment Policy Statements and preparing presentations.
This position allows for further progression into a more senior role (TIM) depending on the candidate’s development.
What will you do?
- Input trades and ensure they are processed accurately and on a timely basis
- Assist with managing cash balances
- Ensure that client portfolios are structured and managed within parameters outlined in the Investment Policy Statement and in accordance with RT investment policies and procedures
- Draft and review Investment Policy Statements
- Prepare client presentations and attend meetings as required
- Ad hoc special projects
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in the investment industry or strong finance background
- University Degree
- Successful completion of CSC (Canadian Securities Course)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
Nice to Have
- Enrolled in the CFA program (Chartered Financial Analyst)
- CIM Designation (Chartered Investment Manager)
- Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Basic VBA)

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$55,000.00 - $90,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
