What is the opportunity?
In this role you will be part of a risk management and innovation team focused on growth and transformation through the delivery of underwriting solutions that prioritize digitization and analysis of the underwriting risk.
What will you do?
-Drive strategies that deliver additional value to RBCs accelerated underwriting programs and automated underwriting goals
-Work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive innovation, digitization and responsible use of data, underwriting philosophy, guidelines and procedures
-Set corporate underwriting policy through the design of unique underwriting strategies to deliver a superior client experience and drive profitable growth.
-Conceptualize and manage automated underwriting tools/rules.
-Proactively look to the industry for trends, non-traditional underwriting sources, developments, and regulatory changes
-Provide analysis and underwriting opinions on contestable claims reviews.
-Build a strong technical knowledge as it relates to risk assessment to develop colleagues through coaching and training opportunities
What will you need to succeed?
Must have:
-Senior level life Insurance underwriter with 7+ years individual market experience and a strong grasp of products features and sales enablement.
-Strong technical underwriting background and experience in designing and implementing accelerated underwriting rules sets.
-Strong commitment to improving the insurance onboarding and servicing experience
-A passion to ignite change within the business, challenging the status quo to find new innovative ways to assess risk.
-Excellent collaborative, written and presentation skills.
Nice to have:
-Bilingual in both French and English, written and spoken would be a strong asset.
-Critical Illness and/or Disability underwriting experience.
-Working knowledge of project management framework, product development and risk management

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.
Pay Range
The expected pay range for this position is:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
