Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Leads the technical design and development of multi-platform, cross-functional application systems. Utilizes in- depth, extensive knowledge, practices, and skills to carry out challenging assignments on the Tungsten Total Agility (TTA) platform. The development tools, industry best practices, frameworks, and programming/scripting languages are all things you are well-versed in as a leader. Identify technical requirements, carry out thorough application design, and validate solutions in close collaboration with business stakeholders and technology partners to achieve critical business OKRs (objectives and key results).

This lead role will concentrate on creating applications for RBC's enterprise's use of digital document workflow solutions. The candidate will evaluate the existing business document processing process and determine how best to design and create automated solutions that are compatible with RBC enterprise practices and standards. Working efficiently inside the Agile software product development Product lab, enabling business partners to quickly adopt solutions, and delivering Enterprise-quality systems that are highly scalable and resilient are requirements for this position.

This would be a fantastic chance to develop solutions that are transforming business process into modern applications adopting Advanced AI capabilities, while also maintaining the platform's ability to support numerous high volume/rapidly expanding demand business units within RBC Enterprise.

What will you do?

You will join the Digital Operations Technology team as the Agile software development technical lead/technical Product owner.

Your overall responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze, Design, develop and implement document workflow solutions with Tungsten TTA or similar industry BPM/OCR tools.

  • Workflow process/case management application development.

  • Integrate up-stream/down-stream applications to TTA API’s patterns involving, Open-Auth/RESTful API

  • Transformation work related to OCR and document classification and data extraction.

  • Design and implement data model changes in MS-SQL

  • Develop automated Unit and API integration tests.

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Quality Engineering team members as needed.

  • Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of the CI/CD pipeline.

  • Actively participate in regular sprint planning sessions by working with business product owners to prioritize product backlog.

  • Help business users and production support staff understand the know-how and share best practices within the team.

  • Mentor junior staff by helping them to learn concepts and guide them to become successful.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • About 5+ years hands-on experience with Tungsten– TTA or Similar tools that adopt BPMN with OCR

  • Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts in simple business terms

  • Experience being involved in projects involving OCR/Extraction of complex business documents.

  • Expert in C#, .NET, JavaScript, MS-SQL and Enterprise Web Application development.

  • Expert in secure software development practices

  • Experienced in CI/CD and application deployment in Azure

  • Experience with developing business workflow applications

  • Exposure to Middleware technologies / Cloud deployment

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with integrating to Azure Cloud Cognitive Services

  • Good knowledge of Continuous Integration/Delivery pipeline tools such as Nexus, Urban Code, Jenkins.

  • Experience working for a Canadian Financial institution.
