What is the opportunity?
The RBC Capital Markets Client Intelligence team plays an integral role in support of the firm’s key strategic client initiatives. The Client Intelligence team is part of the Business Resource Management division which supports all global businesses within Capital Markets including Global Markets Sales & Trading, Corporate Banking & Investment Banking.
The CI team is responsible for ensuring accurate client revenue reporting and leverages internal data (revenue, resource utilization, CRM interactions) and external data (competitor benchmarking, client provided scorecards and feedback) to deliver analytical business insights. The data and analytics provided by the CI team empowers the business to make more informed decisions on its clients and supports its formulation of sales and client strategies.

What will you do?
- Data Remediation: Identify and remediate data quality issues across client datasets, systematizing how problems are discovered, documented, and resolved
- Data Analysis: Analyze cleaned datasets to extract meaningful insights and generate actionable analytics that inform client decisions and business strategy
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that every dataset meets quality standards, with remediation work directly enabling reliable analytical outputs
- Data Wrangling & Preparation: Manage the cleaning and preparation of datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency across Capital Markets businesses.
Must-Have:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, data cleanup, reporting, or business systems analysis with a demonstrated passion for delivering clean, reliable data
- Hands-on experience identifying, documenting, and remediating data quality issues at scale
- Hands-on experience with data wrangling, cleansing, and validation across client datasets
- Strong critical thinking and investigative skills to trace root causes of data problems and implement lasting solutions
- Hands-on experience with data cleansing, aggregation, workflow automation, and ETL processes
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, charting, and data manipulation
- Understanding of data lineage and ability to document data flows from source to consumption
- Detail-oriented with exceptional ability to identify inconsistencies and errors
- Strong analytical mindset capable of transforming raw data into actionable insights
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to translate technical concepts for business audiences
- Self-starter capable of driving initiatives with minimal oversight
- Bachelor's degree or higher
Nice-to-Have:
- SQL proficiency including query optimization, complex joins, subqueries, and performance tuning across multiple database platforms
- Practical Python experience for data analysis and wrangling with ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Python experience for statistical analysis or machine learning
- Exposure to enterprise data warehouse environments
- Background in client data management or master data management (MDM) systems
- Experience with Tableau
