Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, Procurement Strategy & Transformation will be responsible for bringing the facts and data to our procurement decision-making processes. You’ll be leading analytics and strategies across Global Procurement and solving complex problems using data-driven insights. As a procurement organization, we know that taking a data-driven approach results in better outcomes (we have the data to support that!) and you will be responsible for taking those facts and data into a story that leads to that better outcome.

You’ll be part of a fun and engaged team that is made up of master story-tellers with tremendous analytic horsepower that use facts and data to solve problems (big and small) and improve outcomes. To be successful, you’ll have expert analytic capabilities and a strong attention to detail. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across Global Procurement, have a willingness to challenge the status quo and an ability to embrace change.

What will you do?

  • You will leverage a data-centric approach to build category and supplier strategies that, in partnership with key stakeholders, can be implemented across the enterprise. Certain strategies may result in transformational change needing to be driven across Global Procurement and the lines of business. Your communication and collaboration skills will be critical to influence stakeholders and drive change through the strategies that you build. Experience in IT and Professional Services category strategy will be beneficial.
  • Story-telling – compel meaningful outcomes (changes, actions and more) through powerful and effective story-telling that adapts across all mediums and audiences. Partner with stakeholders to manage the impacts and change that may come from strategies you’ve developed.
  • Analytics & Strategy Development – use facts and data to solve problems and develop transformational strategies for the bank: Leverage your analytical prowess to solve tough problems and support the goals and objectives of Global Procurement. This will be done by analyzing third-party spend, pricing, contracts and processes to identify opportunities and support ongoing sourcing engagements.
  • Whether it be how to optimize our third-party spend or how to more effectively allocate resources across multiple competing priorities, you’ll let the data guide you to solve these often ambiguous challenges (this will be done through: RFx modeling and decision-making support: spend analysis and planning, benchmarking, industry research, bid evaluation and deal modeling, and spend forecasting).
  • Continuous improvement – always challenge the status quo: Support various strategic initiatives (big and small) including process re-design, strategy development, budget and priority-setting, digital culture transformation and more – it’s an exciting and fast-paced environment and you’ll be required to leverage your problem-solving, communication, project management, change management and creativity skills to be successful

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • Seven years’ experience in procurement strategy, category management, change management and transformation delivery
  • Experience with price modeling, forecasting and story telling
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Expert level in Microsoft Office applications; particularly PowerPoint and Excel skills (pivots, complex logic statements, lookups, etc.)
  • Fearful of mediocrity and a willingness to embrace change

Nice-to-have

  • A smattering of other technical prowess: MS Access, Power BI, Tableau, surprise us
  • Related experience within a matrixed corporate environment
  • IT and/or Professional Services category knowledge

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • A world-class training program in financial services
  • Flexible work/life balance options
  • Opportunities to do challenging work
  • Opportunities to take on progressively greater accountabilities
