What's the opportunity?

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will provide project management support across our Commercial AI initiatives that Borealis is involved in. This is a unique opportunity to grow in the world of AI/GenAI Delivery and work with a team of passionate individuals committed to the mission of bringing AI to enterprise.

At RBC Borealis, you’ll be joining a team that works directly with leading researchers in machine learning, has access to rich and massive datasets, and offers the computational resources to support ongoing development in areas such as reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning and computer vision. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leverage program management tools and frameworks to drive results (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Agile, etc.)

  • Formulating program plans/milestones that balance business needs, technical risks, poroduct performance, schedule constraints, costs and resource availability

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Commercial Banking focused AI projects for clients from ideation to execution, while ensuring adherence to timelines, budget and quality standards

  • Collaborate with cross-functional client teams to manage AI projects through all stages, including performance monitoring, optimization and ongoing product versions

  • Translate data into compelling narratives and insights for executive audiences to secure leadership support

You're our ideal candidate if you have:

Technical AI/ML Knowledge Requirements

  • AI/GenAI Fundamentals: Understanding of artificial intelligence and generative AI concepts, applications, and industry trends

  • Machine Learning: General knowledge of ML methodologies including reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, and computer vision

  • Research & Development: Experience working with technical/research teams and translating research into commercial applications

Project Management Core Competencies

  • Agile Methodologies: Proficiency in Scrum, Kanban, and other agile frameworks

  • Sprint Planning: Experience planning, executing, and managing sprint cycles

  • Project Management Tools:

  • JIRA for issue tracking and project management

  • Confluence for documentation and knowledge management

  • Additional PM tools (Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, etc.)

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects across technical teams

Program Management Skills

  • Commercial AI Delivery: Experience delivering AI solutions in enterprise environments

  • Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills for technical and business stakeholders

  • Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks in AI initiatives

  • Resource Coordination: Managing computational resources, datasets, and team capacity

Professional Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master's preferred)

  • Experience: 5+ years in technical program management, preferably in AI/ML or technology sectors

  • Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent project management certifications
