Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the WMC Senior Product Owner Surveillance, the Junior Product Owner of Surveillance is accountable for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and enhancement of critical business applications. This role will serve as a bridge between technical teams, front-office users, and stakeholders, ensuring seamless application functionality, user satisfaction, and process efficiency. The ideal candidate will combine analytical problem-solving skills with strong communication abilities to drive continuous improvement in product support and business workflows.

Please Note: this role will require the incumbent to work occasional evening and weekends

What will you do?

  • Application Maintenance & Optimization: Manage day-to-day maintenance of core business applications, troubleshoot issues, coordinate enhancements & fixes, and ensure system stability. Monitor application performance metrics and user feedback to identify and implement optimization opportunities.
  • Incident Management & Technical Support: Collaborate with IT and development teams to resolve technical incidents, escalate critical problems, and implement preventive measures to minimize disruptions.
  • Front-Office Support & Training: Provide direct support to front-office teams by addressing application-related queries, resolving usability challenges, and configuring tools. Develop and deliver training materials (e.g., guides, workshops, FAQs) to improve user adoption and operational efficiency.
  • Business Requirements & Process Improvement: Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for application enhancements or process improvements. Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven solutions to streamline operations.
  • Documentation & Development Support: Create user stories, process diagrams, and functional specifications to guide development efforts. Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles, validate solutions, and ensure deliverables meet business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, compliance, risk management) to align on priorities, resolve interdependencies, and ensure solutions meet organizational needs.
  • Performance Reporting & Communication: Report on application performance, support metrics, and project progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals.
  • Roadmap Planning & Innovation: Contribute to roadmap planning by highlighting user needs, market trends, and opportunities for innovation to drive continuous improvement and strategic growth.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 5% - 10% of the time

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Securities and Financial Markets experience 2+years
  • 1–2 years in application support, business analysis, product ownership, or adjacent roles. Financial services front office experience exposure is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office. Agile/Scrum familiarity preferred.

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions, and business needs.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$67,000.00 - $110,000.00
