Job Description

***PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A 12-MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT POSITION***

What is the opportunity?

You will provide in-depth product support within the Derivatives Confirmations Group, covering FX, FX Options, and Commodities. Your primary focus will be trade confirmation and static data management to mitigate operational risk between RBC and its counterparties. You will ensure confirmations are issued, verified, and resolved in accordance with Standing Order requirements. The role also involves daily interaction with Trading, Sales, and internal partners to resolve inquiries and support business activities.

What will you do?

• Draft and issue trade confirmations in accordance with Standing Order Policy

• Review RBC-prepared confirmations against counterparty documents to ensure alignment on economic terms and legal agreement provisions

• Investigate and resolve confirmation discrepancies, escalating unresolved issues to Front Office, Documentation, or Legal as required

• Perform reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and completeness

• Review and action regulatory reporting obligations to maintain compliance with regulatory bodies including CFTC and ESMA

• Apply maker-checker controls for static data setup and updates, including verification of changes made by team members or other departments

• Monitor and follow up on aged confirmation reports to reduce outstanding confirmations

• Participate in testing, analysis, and implementation of operational procedures for new products

• Maintain and update confirmation templates and index templates used in automated confirmation generation

• Adhere to firm-wide KYC policies for new and existing client setup

• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and operational procedures

What do you need to succeed?

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas

University degree in Finance, Economics or a related field

3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience

Good knowledge of foreign exchange and commodity derivative transactions

Good knowledge of ISDA documentation definitions

Good understanding of derivatives products in general, standard market practices, and trading terminology

Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal

Detail-oriented, strong time management and organization skills

Analytical abilities and able to be pro-active to foresee potential problems

An ability to identify collaboration opportunities with our internal partners and a team player
