Job Description

What is the opportunity?
Join our Commercial Banking team as a Senior Manager, Business Client Oversight and Risk Management, where you’ll lead critical initiatives to enhance client onboarding, risk management, and compliance. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless business bank account management, AML/KYC adherence, and digital channel optimization while fostering strong partnerships across sales, risk, and operations teams. You’ll drive process improvements, mitigate regulatory risks, and deliver exceptional client experiences through strategic oversight and innovation.

What will you do?

  • Manage the G2 Policy mailbox, redirecting inquiries and resolving exceptions within SLAs.
  • Act as the primary contact for sales and risk teams to clarify policy requirements and risk appetite.
  • Support digital channel development for client onboarding, account opening/closing, and Master Client Agreement management.
  • Prepare monthly dashboards tracking client reviews, approvals, declines, and trends.
  • Collaborate with risk partners to ensure regulatory compliance and robust control frameworks.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and remediation activities for policy gaps.
  • Provide training to staff on policy and procedural requirements and team administrative processes.
  • Identify revenue/cost-saving opportunities while balancing risk and client retention.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, regulatory compliance (e.g., AML, Bank Act), and client onboarding processes.
  • Robust analytical, project management, and reporting skills.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in Commercial Banking client onboarding, account management, or products/services.
  • Legal education or risk/compliance program expertise.
  • Banking industry experience in sales, operations, or client management.
  • Familiarity with RBC’s organizational structure and business strategies.
  • Agile mindset with a track record of driving efficiencies and process improvements.
