Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

A Senior Technical Security Analyst acts as the first point of contact for provisioning access to various system for end users. Resolves basic inquiries via telephone or written correspondence via email or other electronic media while working with the request ticketing system. Works collaboratively with teammates and other technical support teams. The Senior Technical Security Analyst will be required to adhere to SLAs, troubleshoot technical issues, have efficient IT documentation skills, handle interaction resolution and escalation, and provide a high level of customer support while working in this highly visible position.

The Global Cyber Security team sets the strategic risk management vision for protecting RBC’s global information assets, delivers enterprise capabilities to maintain regulatory and policy compliance, defends RBC against cyber threats and oversees T&O’s control environment to ensure safety and soundness.

What will you do?

  • Support end users by processing ServiceNow requests submitted through the MyMarketplace platform

  • Follow documented procedures and ensure timely execution and closure of access requests

  • Investigate urgent issues and escalate requests accordingly ensuring a valid business reason is provided

  • Participate in meetings with support partners for changes to process and procedures and manage the knowledge base accordingly.

  • Work in a diverse environment leveraging other team members’ experience and knowledge

  • Identify, introduce, and implement opportunities to streamline processes.

  • Ensure processes are accurate and current by reporting on gaps and informing team members, leads and Management of changes or update to processes; ensure appropriate updates are made to associated documentation

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • 1 or more years of experience working in IT support and/or Service Desk support role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences and/or IT related disciplines

  • ITIL v3: Foundations, Operational Support & Analysis

  • Technical Certification in an IT area

  • Strong technical writing aptitude

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Strong ability to manage client and stakeholder relations

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities

  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to shift tasks in high pressure environment

Nice to have:

  • Previous banking experience

  • Certifications in Information Security is preferred
