What is the opportunity?
Working in Global Credit under the Credit and Transaction Management team, you will be responsible for the administration of RBC Capital Market’s portfolio of borrowers, which includes multinational and other large corporate lending relationships.
What will you do?
- The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for maintaining the investor database for the RBC Capital Markets Fund Finance portfolio. You will manage all aspects of our investor database, including processing approved borrowing bases and uploading Limited Partner (LP) information. A significant portion of your work will involve researching and matching each LP to the appropriate Investor Group and Ultimate Support Provider, requiring strong investigative and analytical skills.
- Upkeep and maintain credit, transactional and trading limits in the bank systems. Submit and approve administrative transaction requests as required and permitted under the Delegated Authorities provided by the Chief Risk Officer
- Monitor receipt of reporting covenants for RBC CM’s corporate clients.
- Monitor client’s compliance to the terms and conditions of loan and other agreements. Review credit agreement terms and ensure they are correctly reflected in the Bank’s systems and that all credit documentation is accounted for and reviewed on a timely basis (e.g. credit agreements, amendments, waivers, security documents).
- Build and maintain strong business relationships with Corporate Banking, Global Transaction Banking, Global Credit, Risk Management, Ratings and Monitoring Team, Global Loans and Administration, Internal and External Audit.
- Complete Annual Reviews of existing credit relationships which are to be completed in a timely fashion and maintaining a high quality of work.
- Collaborate with the various stakeholders to identify specific areas for possible efficiency evaluation and provide recommendations to streamline credit processes.
- Other projects & assignments as required, including portfolio and/or audit related reviews that require analytical, research, strategic and problem solving skills. Completion of ad-hoc projects and other duties in order to support the team’s planned and unplanned demands.
What you need to succeed?
Must have:
- We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated research capabilities. Experience with database management and data entry is essential.
- Familiarity with AI tools and concepts is a plus and will be increasingly valuable as the role evolves to streamline ongoing database updates.
- Minimum Undergraduate degree in the field of Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Highly motivated self-starter and strong work ethic where accuracy, a keen eye for details, and thoroughness is paramount.
- Strong analytical, credit and technical competencies including a sound knowledge of credit related products.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.
- 1-3 years work experience in a related field, including database management, banking or corporate lending experience, finance and/or risk management.
- Ability to read and understand complex legal documents (e.g. loan agreements, security documents, internal credit memo’s).
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to interact at all levels within a large organization.
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in visual data related applications or dashboards, ie Tableau.
- Proficiency in advanced excel / VBA.
