Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Senior Manager, Marketing Technology will act as both a business and technical leader for RBC’s marketing capabilities and solutions across digital communication channels such as email, SMS messaging, Push Notifications, and Alerts infrastructure. Operating in the capacity of an in-house subject matter expert for digital messaging solutions, this role is accountable for demonstrating an overall enterprise responsibility to RBC’s Marketing Technology stack.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Consult with Marketing Heads and key stakeholders to enable Digital Marketing campaigns, partnering with internal business/technical teams and third-party vendors to analyze business/technical/system needs and ultimately recommend high-quality and scalable MarTech solutions that meet business requirements, drive revenue, and cost savings.

  • Develop and applies a deep understanding of client behaviour to improve the relevancy of Digital marketing strategies and use of MarTech tools to deliver targetted, relevant offers.

  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of MarTech capabilities resulting in customized and integrated solutions/environments that deliver personalized and relevant digital communications, offers, alerts, and advertising. Ultimately delivering positive business results through increased conversion and channel penetration.

  • Subject matter expert (SME) and strategic lead for the following MarTech tools and processes that support Digital Marketing Strategy and Transformation across the enterprise:

    • Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related Saleforce Clouds

    • Other relevant marketing automation products within industry, including non-Salesforce digital communication deployment platforms, CRMs, and CMS products

    • Expert for all channel best-practices and standards

  • Ensure operational effectiveness of RBC’s Marketing Technologies. Key activities include:

    • Provide RBC technical support 24/7 to ensure users of Digital Channels are not affected by any technology down time that could result in negative client experience.

    • Develop reusable infrastructure and business rules that enable targeting of high value clients by leveraging client profiles and online/mobile behavior to drive conversion rates

    • Develop operational processes in Salesforce to ensure successful governance of technical testing/production environments, source code management, quality assurance processes, digital channel standards, and best practices

    • Deeply involved in each technical release, ranging from deployments, enhancements, and fixes; ensures sufficient testing for acceptance criteria in RBC’s Production environments

    • Develops and maintains adequate technical documentation, providing training across the team and enterprise for RBC’s MarTech solutions.

  • Establishes strong relationships with business partners to gain business insight and develop a transparent and actionable plan for the delivery of initiatives supporting business roadmap

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 4-7 years speciality expertise in Marketing Technology, relationship marketing, and email marketing, SMS messaging, and Push messaging

  • Expert knowledge and experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Subject matter expert on a wide-variety of MarTech tools and digital messaging (i.e., email, SMS, Push messaging, and social messaging) best practices including data management, campaign execution, deliverability, and CASL/CAN-SPAM/GDPR and any other digital messaging related legislation

  • Skillful with different industry tools relating to segmentation, automation, tracking, and analytics to make data-driven decisions to optimize campaigns

  • Exhibits consulting and strategic mindset, with strong understanding of strategy development methodologies and how to translate strategy and priorities into roadmaps
