What's the opportunity?
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Fraud Management strategies for Credit Cards across all channels. You will achieve this objective by monitoring the current landscape through data driven research and analytics and monitoring industry trends. You will ensure the effective balance between fraud loss, client experience, operational costs, and risk management framework. You will lead forecasting of fraud losses by collaborating within Fraud Management and Business Units. You would be responsible for analysis, facilitation, documentation, and support of Credit Cards third party Systems (TSYS, Ethoca and FICO) as it relates to product specific fraud mitigation strategies (e.g. Decision Hierarchy updates, data projects and creation related OMRs). You will support large transformational initiatives such through thought leadership, risk identification and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
What will you do?
- As the strategy owner, evaluate performance and continue to adjust and improve strategy as the fraud landscape evolves, and drive the roadmap and set the strategic direction for fraud strategy at product level
- Conduct data driven research and analytics (Data mining, SQL, visualization) to complete the analysis and formulate your strategy
- Be the trusted advisor to business partners and assess current and emerging fraud risks to develop and implement strategic plans that support business transformation.
- Build the case to bring strategies to market, work with business and technology teams to implement them and see your work product to delivery lifecycle in real time
- Provide Senior Management and Business partners with timely updates on fraud loss savings, performance against risk appetite and any ongoing risks.
- Work collaboratively in a cross-functional squad to identify and execute against opportunities to optimize the balance across the risk pillars, while managing a prioritized backlog of ideas.
- Offer subject matter expertise on large scale transformation initiatives to ensure the right controls are implemented both within RBC and Third-party implementations.
- Stay apprised of Global fraud trends, Business unit objectives and Operations strategies to ensure alignment across all areas of impact.
What you need to succeed
Must have:
- Experienced in developing strategies for product
- Strategic mindset and experience in conducting research through analytics
- Proven ability to use SQL and Data Mining Tools to probe data for investigation purposes
- Experience in developing visualizations to make complex analyses accessible for business cases
- Professional oral and written communication skills, and ability to articulate insights in succinct business terms and communicate effectively
- Experienced in driving transformational change in complex enterprise projects
- Ability to quickly learn and absorb new concepts to help enhance fraud mitigation strategies
- University degree preferably in a quantitative field of study, statistics or economics
Nice to have:
- Experience in Retail and/or Commercial banking products
- Experience in Risk Management
- Knowledge of RBC Products and Regulations
