Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Our RBC Operational Risk team is currently hiring an Associate Director of Practice Strategy. We strive to evolve operational risk practices with technological enablement to drive consistency across business segments, regions, and legal entities. We are seeking a dynamic Associate Director to support the evolution of Change Risk and External Events practices.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders to ensure that initiatives are progressing in support of the Operational Risk strategic priorities
  • Provide support for the development, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives related to Operational Risk
  • Cultivate relationships within Operational Risk and with key partners within the 1LOD, to support program teams in driving Operational Risk priorities from conception to completion
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate progress of the portfolio of initiatives, identifying potential risks and issues to delivery, and proactive mitigation strategies
  • Utilize insights and strategic connections across OR to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of initiative delivery
  • Enhance the existing program interaction channels to improve communication on initiative progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and senior leadership

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7+ years of experience working in risk management, transformation or a related field
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • A bias for action, demonstrating agility and decisiveness
  • Ability to synthesize system information and business processes into clear impacts and benefits that are conveyed through learning, communication, and presentation materials
  • Proficiency in creating high-quality executive presentations and reports
  • Exceptional PowerPoint, storytelling, and communication skills (including facilitation in remote / virtual models)

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience working in Risk Management
  • Previous experience with Archer
