Job Description

What is the opportunity?

You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team that helps families and executors navigate the estate settlement process with care and accuracy. This role offers the chance to work closely with internal partners across operations, tax and client service to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every estate settlement.

What will you do?

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes strengthen controls and enhance client experience.

  • Review and process estate documentation ensuring all requirements are complete and compliant.

  • Monitor estate files from start to finish, tracking progress and following up to resolve outstanding items.

  • Helping other business units stay informed about Estate tax implications of their operation.

  • Preparing appropriate Estate tax forms and instruments for filing with federal, state and local jurisdictions.

  • Researching and monitoring appropriate federal, state and local Estate tax regulations and obligations.

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

  • Strong understating of estate settlement processes with working knowledge of estate documentation requirements.

  • Experience with financial Registered products such as RSP, TFSA and RIF

  • Knowledge of how assets are transferred, liquidated or distributed after death

  • Regulatory & Compliance Awareness, working knowledge of estate administration, probate or trust operations

  • Working knowledge of tax slips and CRA estate reporting

  • Strong attention to detail in reviewing documentation and processing requests.

  • Ability to handle multiple estate files simultaneously while meeting service-level agreements

  • Follow procedures carefully while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of Capital gains, deemed dispositions, and final tax return filings

  • Exposure to Foreign withholding tax or non-resident estate

  • Understanding of Compliance and audit requirements

  • Familiarity with Settlement processes for complex accounts
