What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager Commercial Banking NIE, P&CB Finance is a finance lead role responsible for the analysis and reporting of direct and indirect expenses, including FTE, for Commercial Banking. Working in close collaboration with finance and external partners, to enhance cost transparency and develop modelling that provides insight and actionable information to management for effectively controlling cost growth.
What you will do?
- Developing the components (including enhancing and maintaining productivity and key drivers dashboards to incorporate into Plan and forecast); Coordinate annual plan and 5 year strategic Planning process and related business reviews, focusing on alignment with strategy
- Responsible for providing timely and insightful analysis and reporting of financials to Commercial Banking OC, including monthly/quarterly actual, forecast/annual plan/5-year strategic planning and quarterly volume benchmarking with peers
- Reporting related to Commercial Banking direct and indirect expenses, and acting as center of expertise on matters relating to Investment Spend and Business as Usual spend within Professional Fees
- Compiling expense and full-time-employee (FTE) data from across Commercial Banking (CB), including Operations and distribution channels; completing analysis and written commentary explaining variances for reporting periods
- Management of monthly best estimates reporting processes identifying early view of actual results
- Providing advice to executives/senior management on cost trends, early warnings, and savings opportunities
- Assists Commercial Banking efficiency management programs to ensure Commercial Banking/Canadian Banking achieve its’ targeted operating metrics.
- Act as backup for critical processes within BFS Finance team as assigned
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 5+ years of relevant finance and industry experience
- CPA/CFA//MBA Strong understanding of the drivers of performance and outcome measures of Business products, RBC, and the financial industry
- Cross enterprise mindset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to influence.
- Focused on continuous improvement
- Creative, innovative, proactive and strategic business sense
- Strong knowledge of RBC planning, reporting and forecasting processes
- Superior financial modeling skills (ie. strong Excel modeling skills) and technical skills (ie. Tableau database management)
