WHAT IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?
Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Program/Project Delivery for Cash and Trade Finance Technology & CCTMP Business Management, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master (PM/SM) who will support the delivery of initiatives that are transformational, innovative, and regulatory. The role will enable one or more multi-disciplinary hybrid agile/ iterative waterfall teams to deliver technology projects aligned with business strategic priorities and regulatory demands. The Senior PM/SM is a key role within delivery team.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Effectively manage overall project deliverables and team on medium to large initiatives; Including integration of vendor products and in-house applications.
Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, and issues and clear escalation path for program committees.
Manage financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and track value for effective decision-making.
Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g. Vendors, RBC IT teams, Product) and manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates on team performance and delivery timelines
Build / present for Senior Director and VP level presentations, prepare and manage program/project plans, KPIs, and metrics (including status reporting), prioritization calls and project communications.
Apply change and risk management principles, completing risks assessments and the identification of contingency plans, ensuring the team can adapt to evolving business needs and priorities.
Facilitate and deliver on initiatives using appropriate delivery methodology (agile/iterative waterfall)
Partner with multiple stakeholders in a very complex and demanding business and technology environment; Deliver business results on high-profile and business-critical assignments.
Support the team in achieving the sprint goals and removing any impediments that hinder progress, while promoting collaboration among cross-functional team members, including product owners, developers, business analysts, technical system analysts, and architects.
Facilitate big room planning sessions and other collaborative events to align multiple teams on shared goals.
Must-have:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
An attitude for success, proactive approach to project management, outstanding verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail, and passion for innovation and engaging with team members and stakeholders effectively.
10+ years Project Management experience; spanning small projects and large programs with high level of value (benefit/cost), and very high level of complexity / uncertainty, and a track record of successful delivery.
Project/Program Management certifications (e.g. PMP and/or PgMP).
Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex organizational structures.
Proven ability to manage highly visible programs/projects with third party vendors and significant technology components along with having a strong executive presence and advanced communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
Advanced knowledge of change, issue, and risk management and working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies/
Strong understanding of Agile principles, Scrum framework, and Kanban practices with Scrum Master and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
