WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Market and Counterparty Credit Risk portfolio includes strategic initiatives & other projects supporting credit and market risk space, sponsored by Group Risk Management and Capital Markets. In this role, you will lead the planning, organizing and implementation of complex application delivery projects, supporting RBC’s Risk platform. This role will require you to be in the Toronto region and be able to commute to the office as you will be required to work at least three/four days per week in the office, as indicated by your manager.
What will you do?
- Display Project Leadership skills through stakeholder management, team leadership, and management of internal and external dependencies.
- Lead and deliver end to end project management or strategic / external programs in market and credit risk space, often involving capital markets.
- Track project deliverables, milestones, and dependencies to ensure successful on time delivery
- Serve as a key liaison between internal development teams, external partners and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops & governance forums to drive clarity and alignment.
- Coordinate and guide multiple application teams to gather detailed estimate for implementation and testing.
- Work with technical leads to manage, plan and capture dependencies.
- Align and orchestrate efforts across multiple risk systems, ensuring technical and business dependencies are accounted for.
- Drive integration testing across multiple applications.
- Ensure program/projects comply with internal and risk requirements, audit standards.
Excel in Financial Management through cost estimation within appropriate degrees of confidence, monitoring and controlling of project costs (forecasts, baselines, actuals and benefits).
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Knowledge in Credit Risk/Capital Markets/Banking
- Strong experience in project /program management, preferably within risk services.
- Proven experience managing external facing projects.
- Experience coordinating estimation and delivery across multiple applications.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MDS Project or equivalent.
- Advanced communication skills including presentation, facilitation, verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions.
- Remove/Escalate the impediments that are likely to hamper the project/program delivery.
Nice-to-have
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Designation and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation.
Undergraduate degree/Diploma. - Advanced understanding and experience of RBC’s Agile, iWF, and Business Agility project management frameworks and tools (e.g. Planview, MS Project, Jira, Leankit, and Confluence).
- Solid technical background, with understanding in software development and web technologies
