What is the opportunity?

The Lead Technical Product Manager for Common Data Services is responsible for defining and driving the roadmap of reusable, scalable, and high-performing data and machine learning operations (MLOps) frameworks. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure the development of robust horizontal data and ML capabilities. Acting as a bridge between technical and business teams, the role requires balancing short-term deliverables with long-term innovation, managing resources effectively, and driving the adoption of best practices to support the organization’s data-driven objectives

What will you do?

  • Define and drive the strategic vision and product roadmap for common data services and machine learning operations (MLOps) capabilities, ensuring alignment with our Data Strategy and organizational objectives.

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, data science, analytics, and business teams to gather input and prioritize initiatives effectively.

  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term platform goals.

  • Translate cross-project high-level business needs into detailed technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Ensure timely delivery of new features and enhancements, coordinating with engineering teams and other projects stakeholders.

  • Define and monitor services performance KPIs, identify roadmap potential risks, dependencies, and challenges, working proactively to mitigate them.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to introduce innovative solutions and improve platform capabilities.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management including backlog management, roadmap planning, requirements gathering, feature prioritization, and customer-centric mindset.

  • Strong understanding of data engineering tools and technologies, such as cloud platforms (Databricks, Snowflakes, AWS, Azure, GCP), ETL processes, data pipelines, big data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), and real-time processing tools (e.g., Kafka).

  • Strong understanding of ML engineering and MLOps tools covering model deployment and experimentation, data management and feature stores, workflow orchestration, model monitoring and performance tracking.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor team members, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Expertise in agile methodologies, sprint planning and execution, user story writing, and iteration management.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, analyze complex data challenges, adjust priorities, and propose effective solutions in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Spark, OpenShift, S3, Trino, Ranger and Hive.

  • Experience with Collibra, Ataccama, and IBM Information Analyzer

  • Experience with Cloud data platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.

  • Experience with Jupyter notebooks, MLFlow, Weights & Biases (W&B),
