Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The role of Associate, Technical Trust Client Corporate Governance provides a pro-active and efficient Client Fiduciary Governance (“CFG”) function, within the Private Client Fiduciary Services business (“PCFS”)

This is a senior role involving proactive collaboration within the Technical Trust team and with the wider PCFS team. The timely and effective management of governance related issues is essential to mitigate potential financial, legal, operational and/or regulatory risk, to help safeguard RBC’s reputation and ensure we act in the best interests of our clients.

RBC’s expectation is that from mid-September 2025, all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

  • Review and record fiduciary decisions and ensure such decisions are permissible under relevant constitutional documents / jurisdictional laws.

  • Form and dissolve Managed Entities in preferred jurisdictions.

  • Maintain statutory records.

  • Register Annual validations Jersey/Guernsey/Foreign Company Filings.

  • File local tax returns and foreign economic substance notifications.

  • Manage relationships with third parties, including registered agents, tax offices, internal departments; including PCFS, Onboarding, Cessations, Data Management and IT.

  • Delegate PCFS workflows - assigning work within CFG.

  • Ensure that any CFG project work, because of regulatory or internal changes, is carried out in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Enhance and develop CFG procedures and processes including any IT enhancements that are required to ensure they are robust and remain effective.

  • Mentor and Coach within CFG.

  • Support operational and strategic projects and initiatives where relevant technical expertise is required.

  • Provide technical guidance to PCFS and within own CFG team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Full professional qualification (legal, governance or corporate secretarial) from a recognised provider.

  • Maintained minimum annual CPD requirements established by the JFSC and/or relevant professional body.

  • Excellent current knowledge of laws and regulations, relevant to fiduciary service best practice, governance and data protection.

  • Hold or be studying for an internationally recognised professional qualification, or proven experience of trust/company administration with basic accounting knowledge.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Technically and practically able to manage complex matters independently, seeking support as required.

  • Understanding of fiduciary and corporate structures, regulatory, legal and fiscal issues.

Nice-to-have

  • Post-qualification experience in a corporate or private wealth team or in a trust company business.

  • Proficiency with IT programmes such as Word/Excel 5 series/Trust Quay (or equivalent)
