RBC Wealth Management Technology team is looking for a passionate, energetic and talented Sr. Business System Analyst to join a dynamic Agile development team tackling challenging, complex problems while driving business and IT teams in business analysis, creating and prioritizing features, and testing and implement to applications. You will help the product owners execute their product vision in a fully Agile environment.

Job Description

RBC Wealth Management Technology team is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Agile team at RBC Wealth Management Technology. The ideal candidate is not only experienced, but also proactive, curious, and technically strong — someone who asks the right questions and thinks critically before acting. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, understands both business needs and technical complexities, and is passionate about delivering real value.

We build exciting digital (mobile and web) applications for RBC Wealth Management’s clients and advisors. We work in fully Agile way, and foster collaboration, creativity, and entrepreneurial zeal.

What will you do?

  • Be a hands-on on an agile project
  • Work with product owners to define priorities and sprint plan
  • Ensure user stories are created and groomed
  • Facilitate sprint planning sessions.
  • Understand the requirements and write detailed specifications.
  • Participate in UX design with the product owner and UX designer.
  • Work closely with the developers and QE to ensure that the product is built correctly.
  • Create additional documentation or other artefacts to add to the stories for better understanding

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sr. BSA/BA.
  • Proven Sr. BA/BSA experience with medium to larger Agile projects integrated with downstream and upstream applications and processes
  • Possesses excellent communication skills; demonstrates strong critical thinking abilities with a proactive approach to inquiry, ensuring the ability to pose insightful questions
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and is well versed with writing User Stories
  • Pertinent technically skills to be able to query databases, execute APIs in tools like Postman/Swagger, effectively use tools like Jira, Confluence, Mural, Figma etc.

Nice-to-have

  • Financial industry/Wealth Management/Portfolio Management/Client Reporting exposure.
  • Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to define, influence and impact the technical direction
  • Ability to read and understand code logic (OOP, control structures, etc.)
