What is the opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Officer to join the Key Control Assessment, Wealth Management Europe Team in based in Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing control programme within the Quality Assurance team for Wealth Management International (WMI) BI with particular focus on ensuring that the business has robust controls and oversight in place to ensure compliance with regulatory and global policy requirements and reduce Fiduciary, Reputational and Operational risk.

What will you do?

  • Assist with QA induction training for new employees across WMI and ongoing training around the functions of QA Team.

  • Carrying out internal control checks to ensure continued quality service and robust control environment.

  • Follow up and track outstanding issues arising from various reviews including risk & audit.

  • Completion of MIS for reporting purposes.

  • Participate in various projects relating to quality, risk management and compliance initiatives.

  • Carry out end-to-end process reviews to ensure both procedural and regulatory compliance, fully documenting findings for follow up.

  • Provide assistance to the QA Management Team and the Business before and during inspection, both external & internal.

  • Provide feedback to the Management Team to form recommendations for potential changes to team processes and procedures.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven experience in an operational or risk environment within a financial institution.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of internal controls and application of such in the workplace.

  • Can work with minimum supervision and able to prioritise workload.

  • Strong presentation skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Basic understanding of investments & trust structures.
