What is the opportunity?
In this role you will be a technical leader for Core Banking (T24) and Payments Technology, providing design and development direction for related applications and initiatives within the RBC Caribbean Banking space. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the application design/development, and will collaborate with other application teams, various lines of business, lead/associate-lead architects, application architects and solutions architects where applicable. You will lead a technical team of onsite and offshore developers, providing technical leadership to ensure end to end delivery for all critical business/IT projects and technology initiatives, for the purpose of delivering business systems that conform to the RBC Caribbean Banking Roadmap
What will you do?
- Execute planning, delivery and implementation of projects and deliverables primarily in an Agile environment
- Manage development of Core Banking (T24) and Payments related applications, leveraging the use of the emerging technologies, APIs, Cloud, Dev Ops and Agile Methodology
- Provide direction and leadership in driving the evolution of the applications incorporating best practices and technologies into the program delivery
- Co-ordinate and oversee all development and L3 support activities related to Core Banking (T24) and Payments Systems
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support for development plans and performance assessments
- Maintain responsibility for safety and soundness of all assigned applications under purview to ensure IT Risk KRIs are managed in compliance with enterprise targets including for vulnerability management, non-personal IDs (NPIDs), data loss prevention (DLP), audit matters requiring attention (MRAs), risk findings, penetration testing, and application control assessments (ACAs)
- Contribute to development of the roadmap for Core Banking and Payments systems together with the business and architecture teams
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- University or graduate degree in a technical area of study, with a preference in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience
- 5 years’ experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
- Demonstrable consulting, technical leadership and development experience on large-scale software implementation(s) for financial services organizations
- Experience acting as a technical lead or solution architect on a packaged or in-house developed business critical system
- Knowledge of enterprise-level security concepts and methodologies, including SSO, SSL, encryption, authentication and entitlements
- Strong systems knowledge including different programming languages, IT standards, methodologies, capability maturity model (CMM), audit requirements, and middleware technologies
- Knowledge of and experience with Continuous Integration tools - Jenkins, GitHub, UrbanCode, Automated Testing tools
- Experience and applied knowledge of Agile and other project methodologies
- Process knowledge including different testing tools, design techniques and tools, risk assessment and quantification methodologies
- Strong leadership/facilitation skills, comfortable managing cross functional technical teams and ability to define, influence and impact the technical direction
Nice-to-have
- Background/experience acting as a technical lead, subject matter expert or solution architect on Core Banking/Payments systems used in RBC Caribbean
