What is the opportunity?
As a key member of the RBC Capital Markets Productivity & Efficiency (P&E) Advisory in CFO Group, you will support our strategic efficiency efforts across businesses and functions. Our mandate is to be a strategic finance partner for Capital Markets COO group to enhance cost transparency and introduce new ways of identifying efficiencies to enable continuous investment in future growth. We’re seeking a highly skilled member to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be someone who excels at working independently while also possessing the ability to collaborate effectively with the team as needed. This role demands an individual with strong data cleaning and structuring ability, project management, financial analysis and storytelling capabilities, as well as strategic mindset.
What you will do?
Part of a center of expertise, you will serve as trusted Finance partner to support the execution of engagements that help Capital Markets’ senior executives understand the true costs of running their business, support the creation of a reliable and robust reporting hub, picture P&E initiatives and spend storyline. You will do this independently or with the team.
Serve as a trusted finance partner to the Capital Markets COO Group, leveraging strategic and financial acumen to drive cost transparency and support productivity initiatives
Analyze financial data and synthesize key insights to deliver clear, executive-ready storylines through visualization and functional language
Support the build-out of a centralized reporting hub Efficiency Insights Group (EIG) for the P&E Group, working closely with the team leads to drive data cleansing, dashboard development (e.g., Tableau) and management facing visualization, engage and influence stakeholders to meet high reporting standards.
Take on Project Management role for EIG – overseeing ongoing enhancements, coordinating with stakeholders, ensure data integrity and report quality, managing communication with report users.
Develop understanding of ongoing productivity & efficiency initiatives that impact Capital Markets; promote culture of transparency around them, review benefit profiles ensuring initiatives are mobilizing
Perform ad hoc analyses for senior management to improve the understanding of business drivers and opportunities to improve performance, managing costs through strategic business decisions.
What you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint, with a particular emphasis on storyboarding with the ability to create compelling presentations
- Strong technical skills in data cleansing, structuring, and automation using tools such as SQL, Python to ensure efficient production of high-quality data, as well as to streamline the processes
- Strategy experience in a Financial Services/Entrepreneurial environment or other comparative experience preferred
- Experience in management reporting and analysis including business results storytelling and data modeling
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines, track deliverables, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and drive initiatives from planning to execution
- Strong willingness to learn emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. Be proactive in identifying opportunities to leverage AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency
- Comfort in fast-paced environments with high complexity and ambiguity – dealing often with deadlines in hours rather than days
- Exceptional sense of ownership. Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize and get things done.
