What is the opportunity?

The Senior Process Automation Specialist is responsible for leading, supporting, and executing automation projects and initiatives to enable the Operations Effectiveness and Quality Assurance teams for RBC Insurance.

This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts and analysts to design, develop, test, and implement automated solutions to improve quality and reduce cycle time. The role will develop solutions leveraging Python and/or other open-source programming languages, as well as provide support to larger transformation projects and strategies involving the use of AI and LLM.

What will you do?

•Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to document processes, identify areas for improvement, capture requirements, and design and implement solutions

•Design, develop, test, and implement automated solutions to enable straight-through processing, leveraging Python and/or other open-source programming languages

•Develop, test, and implement data pipelines to automate data sourcing and wrangling from various applications and databases by leveraging SQL, Python, Selenium and NLP/LLM

•Work with Operations Effectiveness leadership team to identify and implement strategic initiatives to drive business value and generate efficiencies

•Support the implementation of new technologies and information systems capabilities to improve process and generate efficiency

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

•Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in process and data automation, and a proven track record of developing and implementing automated solutions

•Direct experience in automation and programming with Python, and experience with NLP

•Proficient with data sourcing, wrangling, and analytics, and with RDBMS, SQL, and/or ETL tools

•A self-starter, solution-oriented, and a strong advocate for change, adaptability, and continuous learning and improvement

•Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

•Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• AI/ML related certifications
